Have you scheduled your Registration Day yet?

Hello!

I hope you all are enjoying your summer so far!

With all the things that summer has to offer (vacations, weekend getaways, work), please remember that if you've not done so yet, you need to schedule your Advance Registration Day. Our June date is already booked, which means we only have one more left! July 23 will be our final Advance Registration Day this summer, so please contact your admission counselor as soon as you can, so we can schedule you a time to come!

Advance Registration is a great time for you to take care of everything you need to before the start of classes in August. You're register for your first year of classes, as well as meet with all the offices on campus so we can make sure you're ready to go! I want to give you some tips about your Advance Registration Day, so that you are prepared:

-We will take your picture for your student ID, so be ready :)

-If you have a laptop, you're welcome to bring it with you! You will need to have the anti-virus software installed on your laptop so you can use our network, and we can do that for your while you're registering!

-If you plan to have your car on campus this Fall, we'll need to register you to park it on campus. Please be sure to bring your driver's license with you, and know your car tag number.

-Bring your proof of immunizations, and know your emergency contact information. You're welcome to fill them out ahead of time and bring them with you.

Remember to call your counselor so we can schedule a time for you! If you've not yet taken care of your enrollment deposit, we'd be happy to help you with that as well!

Take care!
Nicole

The Summer Shift....

Hi everyone!
I hope you are all enjoying your summer break! Things are quiet around Tusculum, as most of our students have returned home to see family and friends during the break. But there are a few days when campus gets really busy in the summers: registration! We held our first Advanced Registration Day (ARD) May 28, and had 120 incoming students come to campus and register for classes. It was a busy day, but it was great to see so many familiar faces returning to become Pioneers.

Our next ARDs will be June 25 and July 23--if you haven't signed up yet, be sure to give your admission counselor a call!

In the meantime, as students are transitioning to college, there's a whole new group of students transitioning from high school juniors to high school SENIORS! We're already receiving applications for Fall 2011, and have even started accepting some of these students. If you're a rising senior interested in attending TC, it's not too early to apply! You can fill out an application by clicking on this link.

If you'd rather take a look at campus before applying, that's completely understandable. So if that's the case, come join us for a campus visit! Even though campus is a bit quiet, it's a great time to tour the facilities and speak with a counselor about the benefits of a Tusculum education (including our unique Block schedule!). To schedule a campus visit, call our office at 800-729-0256, or schedule online by clicking this link.

Whether you're registering for classes for the fall, or visiting campus for the first time, we hope to see you on campus SOON!

Spencer Riley named to Tusculum Football coaching staff

Spencer Riley has been named to the football coaching staff at Tusculum College announced Pioneer head coach and athletic director Frankie DeBusk.

Riley will coach the Tusculum offensive line, while also being in charge of the football program’s equipment procurement and upkeep. Riley will assume his duties officially on July 1.

Riley, a native of New Market, Tenn., brings a wealth of collegiate experience with him, having coached and played at both the NCAA Division I and II levels. His college coaching experience includes the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga during the 2008 season and three years at the University of West Georgia. He has also coached at the prep level at Karns High School in Knoxville and Douglas County High School in Douglasville, Ga.

A four-year letterman at the University of Tennessee from 1996 to 1999, Riley has quickly built an impressive resume from the lessons he learned from his time with the Volunteers.

“I’m thrilled to have Coach Riley join the Pioneer family,” said DeBusk. “Our program is going to benefit from Spencer’s vast amount offensive line experience, both as a coach at Chattanooga and West Georgia, and as a player at Tennessee. Not only is he a fine coach, but he is also an outstanding person and we look forward to having him with us.”

His coaching career began at Karns High School in 2001, where he served as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach for three seasons (2001-03) before taking over as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach in 2004. He also coordinated the special teams.

In 2005, Riley was hired to coach the offensive line at West Georgia, becoming only the fifth coach at that position in the program’s 47-year history. After two years in that role at the Gulf South Conference program, Riley was promoted to offensive coordinator while retaining his offensive line responsibilities at the Carrollton, Ga. school.

He installed the Spread offense for the Wolves in 2007 and was the run game coordinator in 2006. He also served as the team’s Pro Liaison.

“I look forward to getting down to work this summer and learning the offense,” said Riley. “I am also looking forward to the opportunity of getting to work with such a great staff. My family and I are excited to become part of the Tusculum family. We are eager to get moved and settled in Greeneville this summer.”
